There’s a quiet power in the way Pragya Bhagat writes — one that doesn’t demand attention but gently holds it. A performance poet, essayist, and educator, Pragya’s work moves through the tender spaces between belonging, body, and vulnerability. Her poems and essays trace the delicate contours of what it means to live in one’s skin, to love, to hurt, and to heal.
Her words have found homes in places like the BBC, The Huffington Post, The Wire, and The Alipore Post, and on stages such as TEDx and Kommune. In Goa, where she now lives, she nurtures a growing community of voices through The Poetry Circle, a space she founded to celebrate honest expression.
Recipient of the Orange Flower Award for writing on mental health, along with the UPES Students’ Choice Award for Memoir Writing and the Goa Open Arts Catalyst Grant, Pragya continues to explore how art can hold empathy, truth, and courage all at once.
